Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Training

March 2 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

As many of you know, due to a variety of factors (social media, prevalence of immorality, constantly being surrounded by values which are contrary to our own, global politics, etc) the mental and emotional pressure facing the youth in the Muslim community is greater than in the last 100 years.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is a mental health certification which teaches adults to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental illness and prepares them on how to deal with youth during these challenges situations. This certification usually costs money…. but the Contra Costa County of Education (CCOE) and a grant through Project Cal-Well are covering all costs. The trainers will be Tehseen Khan and Yasmin Irfani, both Muslim trainers so we can openly discuss the mental health challenges that our Muslim youth are facing.
